A new lap record?

Postby RZ500Guy » Mon Aug 26, 2013 3:35 pm

From what Dominic posted for the results and what is listed for Mosport lap records, there just might be a new lap record!
I will wait for "Official conformation" before hoisting a beer.

Ewan

P.S. who am I kidding, I don't need an excuse to hoist a beer....

Unfortunately what Dominic posted is very un-offical. Seems any 1st lap 'best times' are wrong. But I'll have a beer too, while pretending I almost equalled last years pole on my 1st lap (from a standing start) :D :D :D

Yes, I agree, but it was on lap two and is not quicker by 10 seconds.
Very close to the lap record.
Still having a beer!

Well Ewan, you and Mike were running pretty quick but sadly (as Dale and I also found out) fast lap times don't mean much when coupled with a DNF.

Take the case of Mr Matt Gill and Mr Shawn McDonald-they may not always be the fastest, but they've finished every race with consistency, don't do anything stupid or crazy (OK, in the context of sidecar racing) and oh, look at that!-they're winning sidecars!
The trouble with trouble is that it starts out as fun.

The bar has indeed been raised this year! Congrats to all! As Jan and I have found out in the past, it take 3 of you to win. Yes the rig is as important as the 2 of you. It took us a long time to win our first race even though if all of us had held together it would have been sooner. The only one blameless on our team is Jan. Winning Mosport is an extra special moment and frankly one I never expected to achieve. So Matt and Shaun be proud and happy, go over the rig with a fine tooth comb, keep it on the course at Ste. Eustache and end the year champions.
