VRRA Level 2 Race School

May 28, 2020 on the Shannonville Fabi race circuit
This course is open to VRRA members who want to clear out the cobwebs after a long winter off season, upgrade riding skills, or shakedown a new ride in a highly personalized setting with enough track time to satisfy even the most avid rider.

In groups of 3-5, riders will spend a day with a dedicated and experienced instructor who will work with you on items you want to address and identify points for improvement. Track side instructor observations and points of discussion will occur throughout the day. A relaxed, collegial atmosphere will include sharing tips and ideas with your packet of fellow racers.

Your Level 2 Race School starts with registration, bike tech and set up from 7:30-8:30 am. The general classroom session begins at 8:30 in the white shack at the Fabi circuit and is followed by a track walk. The classroom portion of instruction will cover:
-identifying your limiting factor to being a controlled, faster racer
-what to do away from the track to improve your racing
-bike set up overview
-controls set up and usage
- two types of corners
-breaking down each of the 4 reference points
-line of sight and selecting your race line
-discussion of specific corners for the instructional day and for other club race tracks
-using the tach for more than upshifts
-differing approaches to practice and racing

Riding groups will be sorted by historical lapping data with the intent to maintain appropriate spacing between the groups, and to create compatible groupings. Track sessions will start at 15 minutes and be adjusted according to the needs of the riders. Expect to be riding on the Fabi circuit well before lunch, and to be tired at 5 pm when the school day ends.

It is strongly suggested that you bring basic tools for minor adjustments, extra gas, your pop up canopy, and your rain gear.

Register through Series Tracker. General questions can be directed to Kirby/Darrell.

If you would like to use a bike that is not VRRA legal, please send emails to vrrastage2@gmail.com
