Your competition number (Number plates)!

These have some significance to many members, almost an emotional attachment in many cases.
However...
We have a section of the rule book that deals with numbers. Section 7. Please read it!
I have seen some creative folks trying to get around the rules by adding a letter or even adding a zero at the beginning.. This is not allowed under our rules. Adding a letter is a way to allow a visiting rider to race with us without him having to change his number. It's a courtesy. A way to encourage folks from other organizations to race with us by making it a little bit more convenient (not having to change their numbers back and forth).
It is not intended for members to "get their number" even though that number is already spoken for.
Once a member properly obtains a number, it is their number until they have not renewed their racing membership for 2 years. at which point that number will go back into the available pool.
Single and two digit numbers require an application process. As they become available they are reserved and held until the new year. The list of numbers will be made available and members who wish to obtain these numbers must ask teh membership secretary. In cases where more than one member wants the same number, it will go to teh member with the longest membership status.
Please take some time to review your current numbers and make sure you are following the rules. I will be reviewing these over the course of the next few weeks and will be contacting those not in compliance.
This is a safety issue on track, it can cause confusion with rider identification.
