I'm not sure the red ratcheting strap will provide much help as a steering damper, but the rest is coming along nicely!

Those aren't cardboard, its a special composite material! Very, very lightweight! But what class has brown number plates and black numbers?

I'ts going in the new rulebook, we all have to run red ratchet straps, steering dampers are outlawed. :shock:

The ratchet strap came straight from Ohlins and cardboard is the new plastic...What, are you guys, like, vintage racers or something..... :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :shock:


Does the carb go under the seat, cause it's not giving me much more power where it is......??? :?

Left the TT for a bit in order to get to the SR head. This puppy sat with the decompression release jammed open...Piston seized and loads of rust in the port. I want to use this head on the TT as the SR came with bigger valves and is a common mod for the TT. Springs are within spec, guides too. The whole thing is cleaning up nice. I'll run it over to JPrecision and have the experts offer their opinion on the seats and valves, but it all looks good. For the street, I'd run it as is, but since it's apart and will be spanked :twisted: at the track, I'll let the boys decide. They can massage the ports while they have it... :lol: Cheers.

If I were you, at this point depending on how deep your pockets are for fuel, check with Link or the machinist to see how much can be milled off the head. My .02

Thanks. Already got the specs from many different sources. Kinda have a good idea where I'm heading with the head...(get it? heading with the head... :lol: ). Have to keep compression in the reasonable range for kick starting. 10.5 to 1 seems to be a good ceiling for many racers still using their kick starters...Am in touch with Linc every week, I bow to the Master!!!!!! :twisted:

Nice to see a 40+ year old rim come back to life. Alum. polish, elbow grease, grinder, bead blast and now it almost looks new...

Work continues...Steering damper sorted and installed, rearsets welded (Ugly!!!), shift linkage sorted and intalled, rear brake pedal cut, welded and installed, rear shocks cleaned up, bellypan on the way, alum. marked and started to cut, but jigsaw ran out of juice (recharging battery). Front end is on the way so front wheel can slip right in. Been drilling for safety wire, almost finished that too. Will be very close to teardown for grinding and painting the frame. Friend moved away with my rivet gun, so bought a cheapy at CT....Cheers, Brian.
