Suzuki RG125Γ

Postby Brian Stevenson » Fri Jan 12, 2024 7:23 pm

Where would a Suzuki RG125 Gamma run.

I'm building one for another series with a CR500r motor but may be interested in running it at the VRRA as well. It only mentions the 250 and 500 in the rule book and one is P4-F3 and the other P4-F1.

P4-F3?

According to the rules 500cc two stroke singles are eligible for P4-F3 but what about the chassis? There is no mention of the 125 in the rule book.

The 500 motor basically bolts right in with a couple of custom plates and a spacer.

Hi Michael

The frame is an F and its from 1991. Its also from a WOL-F model that was naked, although its exactly the same frame as the faired bike and still has all the fairing mounting points as Suzuki never removed them. The forks will be from a VJ21 250 so they would they would have come from a 1988-1992 bike and are RWU.

There are 3 classes at Super Series and 2 at SOAR that this will run in. The thought was if this was eligible for the VRRA I can retire the RZ to the street. I would also assume if its eligible for Modern Lightweight at Super Series its also eligible for Modern Lightweight at VRRA.

I also have a 1989 Mito chassis that I was considering. It is a way better and lighter frame (17 lbs) and came stock with Marchesini wheels but since it doesn't have a cradle there is way more work to get that engine mounted. I'd also like to keep that one for something else I have in mind.
