'72 Moto Guzzi Eldorado project...

Since selling my Ducati a few weeks ago (ok Ewan, I know you like the bike but just stop reminding me...not having a street bike is killing me ) and still waiting for BSA parts I figured it was time to get to my perpetual Moto Guzzi Eldorado project. This bike was my late uncles beloved street bike that he ran into a taxi about 20 years ago. It sat uncovered for years and looked like it came out of the Titanic and he gave it to me about 5 years ago.

Here is the front wheel I just finished cleaning up...it was white with corrossion when I started:



I rebuilt the forks with new tubes, did some painting...



Once race season hits I'm sure the Guzzi project will come to a halt but looking forward to getting it on the road!

Not sure I could handle being constantly covered in black crap ! Polishing aluminum rims that were caked with corrossion is not something I would wish on my worst enemy .

Neat project Pete and nice polishing job on the alloy bits. Maybe you should do an article for the Baffled Muffler.
In my cranium stuffed with interesting but mostly useless information, I remember George Kerker building one of these for Daytona about 1967 or '68.
Might even have the article around for it as well...

I did'nt know you were Italian Rick? I quickly hit google translate and got this:

Thanks guys! This thing is a very different motorcycle, shaft drive, has a full size bosch generator, full size starter, a ring gear and clutch like a car, distributor etc.. This seems like a never ending project, Lynn reminded me that I picked it up over 8 years ago not 5! The best part was my brother said to me on Sunday "So, you have maybe only about 5 hours or so left to finish it right?"....

New exhaust system being fitted. Need to sort out some carb gremlins and finish painting some bodywork and she should be ready for the street!
