Ralf's GS550

Postby Michael Vinten » Sun Nov 23, 2014 1:45 pm

P3 Light GS550. Engine was built by the late Steve Crover and Ralf rode the bike for several years, winning the P3 Light championship in 2003 and 2004. The bike was raced in 2005 and that may have been its last time on the track. Bike was stored in the house since last used but moved to the garage last year. It will need cleaning up and servicing prior to use on the track. Forum limit for pictures has been reached. P3 Light GS550. For what it's worth..
I chased Ralph and this bike pretty hard in 2005. It was an absolute bullet in the straights. I beat him but it wasn't easy. The new owner will not be disappointed.
Cheers

Ralf bought that bike from Geo we used to use it as a team spare and I actually raced it in the final race at Shanny then rode it to Ralfs pit (that was the deal that I got to race it that weekend after popping my EX yet again). It was absolutely freakish how well this bike handled when Geo owned it it was VERY slow so we had to ride the hell out of it and it was a running joke in our pit to see who could do the stupidest thing on the mighty GS and pull it off (pretty sure GEO won). When Ralf bought it he had Steve do a ton of engine work so now you have a bike that handles AND is quick. New owner in for a treat.
If you beat me all you have done is beaten an old fat guy. But If I beat you then you have been beaten by an old fat guy!

There is still time to get this bike ready for the 2015 season and join the P3 Light class.

Welcome aboard. You'll be sorry. You'll be hooked.Hope I don't see you and your family on one of those intervention reality programs."He's addicted to motorcycle racing, please save him!"
You made a good choice of motorcycles.Ralf used to ride the wheels off of it.Looking forward to seeing you at the track.

Thanks jerry.... You won't recognize the bike when we're finished with it...reality tv? More like a Shakespearean tragedy...something wicked this way comes!
